The Bachelor's degree in Engineering Education qualifies students for teaching activities in the technical field. The main focus of the course is on the subjects of information technology and electrical engineering with a focus on automation technology. The accompanying pedagogical training is carried out in cooperation with the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. All courses take place at Harz University in Wernigerode.

Teacher at vocational schools
In order to qualify as a teacher especially at vocational schools, there is the possibility after the successful bachelor's degree to complete a specific master's degree programme, which can be studied at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. The subsequent preparatory service - the Referendariat - completes the teacher training.

The teacher training at Harz University of Applied Sciences and the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg qualifies students for service in vocational schools with an industrial-technical specialization. In Saxony-Anhalt these include “Berufsschulen”, “Berufsfachschulen”, “Berufliche Gymnasien” and “Fachschulen“.
The academic training as a teacher is not only open to applicants with Abitur (German University Entrance Certificate). Vocationally qualified people can also study Engineering Education if they have completed advanced training, such as a "Technikerausbildung" (technician craftsman qualification) or "Meisterausbildung" (master craftsman qualification). In addition, particularly qualified professionals can prove their ability to study by successfully completing the "Immaturenprüfung", a special university aptitude test.
